Failure is our minds way of telling us something didn’t feel good. It’s just feedback to get us where we need to be. So don’t beat yourself up because you ate a cupcake, go on a binge, and start again Monday. Lead with forgiveness and then head back on the right road as soon as you realize it.
When we reward the negative in our lives with food, that’s emotional eating. We’re sad. We turn to food. Stressed? Turn to food. Those aren’t pleasant feeling, but when we reward those behaviors with food (especially sweets), our brain will continue to lead your towards emotionally eating so that it will get the dopamine high.
You first have to recognize the patters and behaviors that lead to emotional eating before you can decide on a plan on how to get back on the right track.
