Motivation is one of those things that either everyone is talking about it or it’s totally taboo.  We all have things that keep us motivated and we are all in search of something to keep us going in some area of our life.

What is motivation?

Motivation is the reason(s) one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.  It some from the word motive.

We’re in search of something: happiness, joy, love, security, home… The picture we may envision usually differs from our reality.

The job you do has nothing to do with the actual “job” (the work, the do); but what matter is what it brings you.  You are searching for results.  There’s a reward which stems from your results.  You want that happiness, joy, love.

Why are you searching for what you don’t want?

Let me give you an example.

Why should I quit?

You will come up with every reason why you should quit.

But, if you ask, “Why should I stay?” Your mind will reason and search for every possibility of staying.

In life, you’re always moving–forward or backwards, positive or negative.  So what magic formula will keep you going?  What keeps bringing you back to motivation (a reason one has for acting or behaving in a particular way).

Motivation comes from motive–the moving reason.

Keep It Simple Strategy

Create a motif-a moving reason.

Change the questions you are asking.

  1. How do you want to move?
  2. Where do you want to move to?  Where do you want to go?
  3. How will you move there? How will you get there?
  4. What are you moving towards?  What are you chasing?
  5. When do you want to move?
  6. Why do you want to move.
