How To Win the Battle of Your Mind

In our minds, there’s a daily battle that is fought:  good vs bad; positive vs negative; growth vs. setback.  We have an internal and external dialog that affects our mind body connection.  

Research tells us that the amount of thoughts that go through our heads every day is about 30,000-70,000 thoughts a day.  You might be thinking, “I don’t think that much.”  And I thought that too, but then I learned that 95% of our thoughts are subconscious.  

That’s crazy!  

Then, National Science Foundation found that of those thoughts say that 80% of them are negative thoughts.  And 90% are the same repetitive thoughts from the day before.  

What does that tell us?  That the battle for your mind is a real thing.  This is not something that is make up.  Mindset is real!  It’s a war you face every single day.

Those self doubts and those fear sneak in.  We have a mindset problem.  

So how do we change that?  

I know there have been many times when I know I’ve tried to eat sensibly, then no matter how hard I try, I just can’t stick with it.  I’m sure you can relate.  And we beat ourselves up and say it’s our lack of willpower.  If only I had enough willpower, then I wouldn’t be overweight.  

The truth is that’s it’s nearly impossible to break a habit with sheer willpower alone.  These bad habits have been programmed in our mindset, so we have to reprogram them.  

Your mindset and the thoughts going through your head are more powerful than your will! So how do we change our mindset so we can meet our goals?

Keep It Simple Strategy

  1. RECOGNIZE your triggers.
  2. REPLACE the negative with the positive.
  3. REFRAME your story.
  4. RESPOND according to the reframing.
