5 Health Facts That Will Help You Chill Out

Often women put off taking care of their health because it stresses them out. It seems overwhelming and they doubt they’ll be able to succeed.

So I thought I would share 5 things that might help you relax and encourage you to start making some strides towards a healthier you – because you deserve it, you’re worth it, and you can totally do this!

1. YOU DON’T NEED TO KNOW THE NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF KALE, CHARD, TOFU… OR WHATEVER OTHER VEGETABLES YOU’VE BEEN EATING

Sure you can, but you know what’s more important? Knowing how to cook it, eating it, and rotating the vegetables, fruits, grains & legumes you’re using on a regular basis. It’s a big problem if you’re rattling off all of these nutritional facts but making no effort to get them into your diet.

2. YOU DON’T NEED TO WEIGH YOURSELF

If you’re trying to lose weight, commit to a plan or program and work that program. Gauge your health by how you feel, and give yourself some time to start feeling the effects of your hard work. The number on the scale is similar to calories; it doesn’t tell the whole story, and more often than not, it makes you feel pretty crappy!

3. YOU DON’T NEED TO WORKOUT SO HARD OR OFTEN

Life is stressful enough; most people don’t need the additional stress that an intense workout brings. Treat your body with respect and do that by moving it daily in a way that feels good for you. A walk is a wonderful way to exercise. Find an activity you love and you’ll be a lot happier and healthier. Plus, you’re more likely to stick with it.

4. YOU DON’T NEED TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN THE KITCHEN
You can be healthy without spending over 30 minutes in the kitchen. But, you can’t be popping things in the microwave or relying on freezer meals. Use your blender more often – you’ll impress yourself by how quickly you can make a smoothie. Make overnight oats, batch cook beans & quinoa, make a salad once and split it into three containers. You don’t have to spend a lot of time, but you do need to do a little planning.

5. YOU DON’T NEED TO STRESS SO MUCH

Take a breath. You’ll lose the weight, you’ll gain the energy, you’ll get that glowing skin – but you have to take some time to relax, read a book and meditate, Just stop putting so much pressure on it.

I’m not saying this is an excuse to eat out, be lazy, or give into temptation; I’m just saying have some fun with it and keep it light. 

 

Trust me, those who are the most successful enjoy the process of getting healthy. If you’re dreading it, you’re doing it wrong 😉
