I Hit Rock Bottom!
Change doesn’t usually happen until we hit rock bottom.
Sometimes it’s a shallow bottom and sometimes it’s deep. However, most people don’t change until you have to change.
For years, I struggled with my weight. I was an emotional eater. I ate when I was stressed, sad, depressed BUT I also ate when I was happy and celebrating.
I’ve been asked several time, “What was the turning point that caused you to finally be able to lose the weigh?”
I HAD to change! Believe it or not, my youngest son had horrible eczema as an infant and really bad acid reflux. His pediatrician suggested I go off dairy and then gluten to see if that helped. Was it initially for my baby? Yes. But I also feel strongly that God intervened to let me know how that I needed change right then and there.
I had to find other ways to deal with my emotions rather than turning to food(because ALL of my comfort foods contained dairy or gluten).
When the pain and this discomfort becomes greater than the life we’ve been living, when we say I‘m sick and tired of being sick and tired, that’s when we finally say“I AM READY FOR A CHANGE!”
Your bottom is when you finally decide to do life differently.
It’s simple, but it’s not always easy. So having someone with you along that journey is crucial.
That’s what I do. I work with my clients when they have hit bottom and they have said, “ENOUGH, I’m ready for change?” I help them over come the the reasons WHY they gained weigh and then we tackle how to focus on ONE thing at a time,ONE habit at a time to start living a healthy life.
BUT…. the journey doesn’t happen until we’ve hit bottom and we’re ready for change.
